The Newport tour takes you through one of the earliest historic parts of the city with brief introductions to historic landmarks in Washington Square, such as The Old Colony House, Touro Synagogue and The Great Friends Meeting House also along the way there are historic homes that are touched on as you walk through the neighborhood. The historic parts of the tour are as interesting as the restaurants and food if not more.

Hi! So the restaurants are actually very close to each other, BUT you may have slightly different stops than I did depending on what is open. That said, the greatest distance was between the first two stops and I would estimate it was a half mile. And we stopped in a shady spot midway through to talk about the history of the city. Once the tour ended, however, we had to walk back to our cars. If mobility is an issue, you could always have a friend go to get the car and pick you up at the final stop or take frequent rests.

Do you know if your cruise line is docking at Fort Adams or Perrotti Park? If it is Perrotti Park it's very close to our meeting location, maybe a 5-7 min. walk. We meet the corner of Marlborough St. & Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd.We end on Charles St. which is even closer to the park. If you will be docking at Fort Adams, you would need to take a trolley or cab and it would be about 15 min. depending on traffic. We do get a lot of people from the cruises taking the tour. I hope this helps and you can make it.
